Steelers RB Le’Veon Bell says he was ‘confused’ by Joe Mixon’s statement

This week could feature some renewed tension between Le’Veon Bell and Joe Mixon. The Pittsburgh Steelers running back is confused by how things escalated between the two but vowed to focus on the task at hand — beating the Cincinnati Bengals.

“The week that we played them last time he had said certain things like he’s way better than me and things like that. But the week after that he start to wear everything that I’m wearing. So that’s the only thing that’s kind of confusing to me,” Bell said, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. “I’m kind of confused by the whole thing. But it is what it is. He’s his own player, I’m my own player [and] we’re gonna go out there and do our thing.”

Bell’s words are tempered from the last time he spoke about Mixon. He expressed his displeasure on social media earlier in the year following Mixon’s statement that he could do more than Bell as a running back. His approach this time around could be viewed as a subtle jab.

Both of the players seemed to have almost moved on from the verbal spat. Mixon said he “wasn’t worried” about Bell’s fiery tweets hours after the Steelers running back hit send.

The two will see each other again on Sunday in Cincinnati. It’ll be interesting to see who has the better performance. You can bet both of them will be extra motivated. Stay tuned.
