The Green Bay Packers are trying to recoup some of tight end Martellus Bennett’s signing bonus.
The Packers released Bennett on Nov. 8 using the “Failure to Disclose Injury,” designation. He was dealing with a shoulder injury that he told the team was going to keep him out for the rest of the season.
Bennett then signed with New England Patriots shortly after his released. He played and caught a few passes for the Patriots, but on Monday he was placed on injured reserve.
On Thursday, the Packers filed paperwork to try and get back some of Bennett’s signing bonus, according to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky.
The NFLPA told ESPN that they are “aware of the situation,” per Demovsky.
