Ex-Falcon coach Jerry Glanville returns to coaching at 76

Former Falcons head coach Jerry Glanville is coming out of retirement at age 76 to coach defense with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League, according to 3downnation.com.

Glanville, who used to leave tickets for Elvis Pressley, is set to join June Jones’ staff.

The colorful Glanville coached the Falcons from 1990-93. He was also the defensive backs coach from 1977-78 and the defensive coordinator from 1979-82. He went on to become the head coach of the Houston Oilers.

Glanville posted a 27-37 record with the Falcons. He was against the team drafting Brett Favre, who was later traded and went on to a Hall of Fame career.

Glanville also worked with June Jones, who replaced him with the Falcons in 1994, at Hawaii.
