Falcons, O’Brien Schofield at impasse

March 11, 2016

Falcons coach Dan Quinn has been in contact with linebacker O’Brien Schofield, but the negotiations have not gone smoothly.

“No new progress there,” Quinn said Friday. “Scho is somebody that I absolutely love. … We are not there yet. He knows our stance on things. The personal connection and the respect that I have for him is big-time. But no news on his side at this point.”

After playing for Quinn in Seattle, Schofield signed a one-year $1.75 million deal last March with the Falcons. He made 11 starts and played in all 16 games. He played 500 of the team’s defensive snaps (47.6 percent) and finished with 28 tackles, two sacks and one forced fumble.
