The Dallas Cowboys have been able to get by without kicker Dan Bailey for the last two games, and there is a sign that he could be returning to the field soon.
While Bailey did not kick during Wednesday practice, he was in full uniform, according to ESPN’s Todd Archer.
Bailey is still a few weeks away from returning to the field, per Archer.
Bailey has been sidelined since suffering a groin injury during the Cowboys’ Week 8 win against the San Francisco 49ers. At the time he was a perfect 7-7 on field-goal attempts this season.
Safety Jeff Heath finished off the afternoon as the kicker, and Mike Nugent was signed the Tuesday following the game.
In Nugent’s two games as the Cowboys’ kicker, he has converted on 4 of 5 field-goal attempts, and 100 percent of his extra-point attempts.
Bailey’s injury could’ve have been a huge loss, especially with the Cowboys going up against four consecutive playoff caliber teams following the 49ers’ win.
Nugent’s steady play has helped not only keep the Cowboys on track, but for now there is no reason to rush Bailey back onto the field.
