Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott received a gift recently, a copy of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s new book, the TB12 method.
Prescott had the book near his locker after practice on Wednesday. He said that is a signed copy, and he is excited to read it. He also seemed interested in one of Brady’s recipes, avocado ice cream, via the Dallas Morning News’ Jon Machota.
There are some similarities between the two players. They both won their starting jobs after replacing long-time starters, and of course the main one is that they were both late-round NFL draft picks. In 2016 Prescott was selected by the Cowboys in the fourth round, and the Patriots took Brady in the sixth round of the 2000 draft.
Brady is now 18 years into a career that includes two MVP awards, five Super Bowl championships and surely a Pro Football Hall of Fame jacket. However, Prescott has actually had more success than Brady did at this point in his career, starting in every single game and winning Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2016.
Maybe that avocado ice cream is just what Prescott needs to take the next step and get the Cowboys back to the Super Bowl for the first time since the 1990s.
