Lamarr Houston is going back to Chicago.
The Chicago Bears claimed Houston off waivers on Wednesday, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Houston was waived by the Houston Texans earlier this week.
Chicago is a place the veteran linebacker spent the 2014-2016 seasons in. Houston tore his ACL twice during his first stint with the Bears. The first came in 2014 while celebrating a sack and he tore it again in 2016.
The Texans signed Houston in Oct. to replace injured linebacker Whitney Mercilus for the season. He played in five games for the Texans. He’s now set to rejoin his former team.
Houston’s amassed 292 tackles and 26 sacks in his eight-year career.
