Wisconsin football WR Quintez Cephus listed as out for season

Wisconsin football suffered a big blow on Thursday.

When the Badgers released their injury report ahead of coach Paul Chryst’s press conference, wide receiver Quintez Cephus was listed as out for the season.

The sophomore is currently the team’s leading receiver, having pulled in 30 balls for 501 yards and six touchdowns.

Cephus left the Indiana game with a right leg injury and was ruled out in the team’s preliminary injury report for the Iowa game earlier this week.

Now, he is done for the season with the same right leg.

Coach Paul Chryst addressed the injury on Thursday.

Chryst said the receiver had surgery on Tuesday.

“For every player that misses it, you feel bad for them,” Chryst said. “Q will bounce back but one of the fun things about coaching is seeing these guys play and grow and develop.”

Tight end Troy Fumagalli is the teams next leading receiver with 30 catches for 401 yards and three touchdowns, while the next wide receiver is A.J. Taylor, who’s got just 14 catches for two scores and 231 yards.
