Wisconsin to announce football series with Notre Dame on Monday

Wisconsin and Notre Dame will be making a “big announcement” on Monday, reportedly announcing a new football series between the programs.

The teams will reportedly meet in Lambeau Field (Green Bay) in 2020 and Solider Field (Chicago) in 2021, according to the Chicago Tribune. Brett McMurphy said representatives from the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers will attend the announcement.

Wisconsin said it will make its announcement at 12:30 p.m. ET. The Badgers and Fighting Irish last met on the football field in 1964.

Wisconsin opened its 2016 season in a similar fashion, beating LSU at Lambeau Field. Paul Chryst referenced that game when asked about the possibility at Big Ten Media Days last month.

“I thought last year, it was neat for our players playing in Lambeau,” Chryst said. “That was a good experience. Any time you can be around players and them getting a great experience, that’s a neat thing. I don’t know where all those are at, conversations and stuff.”
