Willie Taggart reaffirms commitment to Oregon amid Florida State rumors

Amid rampant speculation that Florida State wants him to be its next football coach, Willie Taggart again reiterated his desire to remain at Oregon beyond his first season.

Taggart, meeting with reporters prior to practice on Friday, repeatedly tried to direct the questions away from himself and onto his team and players.

On Thursday night Taggart tweeted about how much he loves what he’s doing, leading many to wonder if that was his way of staying he was sticking with Oregon. On Friday he commented on how much Twitter has changed college football, both good and bad, noting that quarterback Justin Herbert might have the right idea in avoiding social media.

Taggart has reportedly been offered a 5-year, $20 million contract extension, something he acknowledged for the first time.

Oregon will find out Friday which bowl game it will be playing in, something Taggart badly wanted to discuss despite what he was being asked.
