Will Grier wins Big 12 Offensive Newcomer of the Year

Will Grier was incredible this season, even if it didn’t end the way he wanted to.

He’s officially the Big 12 Conference’s Offensive Newcomer of the year.

Grier threw for 3,490 yards and 34 touchdowns to just 12 interceptions.

If he stays for next year, he could win the conference MVP award. He’ll have some offensive line issues to deal with, but he should return David Sills and have some promising young wideouts get reps.

The Big 12 is graduating a lot of its defenders next year, and with all the senior quarterback talent leaving, the conference title race will be wide open, should Grier choose to pursue it.

West Virginia might have Grier back for their bowl game, as well. The surgery on his injured finger reportedly went well, and if the Mountaineers get him back, they’ll likely be favored to win against whoever they play.
