Will Grier second in West Virginia history in single-season pass TDs

Will Grier continues to move up the West Virginia record books.

With his second of four first-half touchdown passes against Kansas State, Grier moved into second in Mountaineer history with most passing touchdowns in a season. His 34 this year are the most by a West Virginia quarterback since Geno Smith had 42 in 2012.

Grier’s first season in Morgantown has been a productive one, both for him and the Mountaineers. He entered Saturday’s game seventh in West Virginia history in passing yards, eighth in completion and ninth in attempts in a season.

Grier entered the game tied for fourth in the FBS in passing yards with 3,068. He has 275 passing yards against the Wildcats, including 30 on a last-second touchdown pass to give the Mountaineers a 28-20 lead at halftime.
