Why Auburn recruiting should improve after landing 4-star running back

Welcome to The Podcast on the Plains, SEC Country’s daily Auburn Tigers podcast with host Zac Blackerby. On today’s show, SEC Country’s Benjamin Wolk joins the show to discuss the impact of landing Asa Martin. He also talks about some recruiting happenings that Auburn fans should be aware of on Saturday night.

Wolk opens up the podcast by analyzing the scheme fit that Martin will bring to the Tigers. Martin’s ability and willingness to catch the football out of the backfield should fit perfectly with Auburn’s new offense under Chip Lindsey. His commitment should also impact how the rest of the 2018 Auburn signing class finishes. His status as the top high school running back in Alabama will make Auburn a more attractive place for other top players.

Wolk also mentions that he will be in attendance to watch two future Auburn wide receivers this weekend and elaborates on what to expect from the two prospects. Future Auburn quarterback Joey Gatewood will take the field on a national stage this weekend as his high school, Bartram Trail, plays its season opener on ESPN2 Saturday night.
