It may not have gotten a ton of attention, but the Vanderbilt Commodores got off to a solid start on Saturday night, beating Middle Tennessee State 28-6.
Kyle Shumur had a strong game, throwing for 296 yards and 3 touchdowns while Ralph Webb ran for just 49 yards and a touchdown. The Commodores defense was held to just 215 total yards.
