What Steve Addazio said after Boston College’s loss to NC State

Boston College couldn’t overcome the loss of quarterback Anthony Brown, seeing a 3-game winning streak end with a 17-14 defeat to NC State.

Brown departed Saturday’s game after suffering a right leg injury in the second quarter and would not return. That meant the Eagles would turn to Darius Wade, who was an ineffective 7-of-14 for 65 yards.

The loss wasted a terrific effort by A.J. Dillon, who rushed for 196 yards and a touchdown on 36 carries, with 137 of those yards coming in the first half. Outside of that, the Eagles offense couldn’t do much of anything after averaging just under 32 points in their previous five games.
