FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas is preparing for its first difficult test of the season this week with TCU coming to town Saturday.
The Razorbacks opened their season with a 49-7 victory over Floirda A&M last Thursday in Little Rock, Ark. TCU is also 1-0 after defeating Jackson State 63-0 Saturday. Arkansas and TCU are set to kickoff at 2:30 p.m. CT inside Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. The game will be televised on CBS.
Arkansas coach Bret Bielema addressed the media Monday ahead of the game. Here’s the rundown of what he had to say:
- Bielema says it’s “kind of nice” to get into a regular game week where the days of the week are what the team is accustomed to.
- Bielema feels the team handled the first game “very, very well.” There were more than 25 players playing in their first game. That’s the highest number Bielema has ever had, according to him. He was especially pleased with the limited amount of penalties.
- TCU wide receiver KeVontae Turpin is “one of the best to have to game plan around” in the country. Bielema calls him a great return man.
- Freshman cornerback Kamren Curl is listed as the starter on the depth chart with starter Ryan Pulley out for the season. Bielema is unsure who exactly will start. It will depend on how they do this week between Curl, Chevin Calloway and Britto Tutt.
