What do David Sills, Gary Jennings, and Ka’Run White all have in common, outside of playing receiver for the West Virginia Mountaineers?
If you guessed that all three are on the watch list for the Biletnikoff award, you win. West Virginia is only one of four teams with three receivers on the watch list for the coveted award.
The trio make up West Virginia’s top three wide receivers. Jennings tops the yardage list with 829 yards, Sills leads in scoring with 16 touchdowns, and of the three, White makes the most of his touches, averaging 17.2 yards per catch. Marcus Simms leads the Mountaineers with more than one catch in yards per catch with 19.2.
West Virginia’s receivers have been excellent, but David Sills is the only one who gets the fanfare nationally. It’s understandable, because Sills scores the touchdowns, but all of them have been great. If Sills and quarterback Will Grier both decide to return for the 2018 season, West Virginia football could be a favorite to win the Big 12 title.
