WATCH: Oregon commit Travis Dye named prep player of the week for 7 TD performance


Oregon Ducks fans are already big fans of the Dye family with star linebacker Troy Dye. However, his little brother Travis Dye is making a name for himself at the high school level and the Ducks can’t wait for him to get to Eugene.

On Friday, the younger Dye, a running back from Norco High School in California, rushed for 346 yards and 7 TDs in an 83-42 win over Roosevelt High School. Yes, Norco scored 83 points.

Dye is a 3 star recruit and stands at 5-foot-9 and 170 pounds. But don’t get it twisted, the kid is very talented. Dye ranks as the No. 202 prospect in California and the No. 124 running back in the country. With his performance last week, eclisped the 2,000 yards mark for the season. Dye has rushed 2,322 yards and 34 TDs rushing this year after rushing for 1,878 yards and 18 TDs in 2016.

Dye is part of a special recruiting class the coach Willie Taggart is putting together in Eugene. Oregon’s 2018 class is currently ranked No. 6 in the country and No. 1 in the Pac-12, according to 247Sports composite rankings. The Ducks have an average commit ranking of 89.39, which ranks 13th in the country and 3rd in the conference.
