It’s early, but Nick Fitzgerald seems to
really like what his new coach is saying.
Fitzgerald shared what new coach
Joe Moorhead said to the team in his first meeting with the team. And said things that should get Mississippi State fans
“The most important thing is ‘You better get your ring size ready because that’s what we’re going
to get,’ Fitzgerald said. “I’m excited, ready to get back to work. Once I can start walking again I’ll
sit down with him and go ball.”
Fitzgerald also mentioned that Moorhead talked about winning an SEC Championship and winning Fitzgerald a Heisman Trophy.
The Mississippi State quarterback accounted for 39 touchdowns this past season and led the Bulldogs to an 8-3 record before
exiting the Ole Miss game with a serious ankle injury. Fitzgerald
had surgery on the ankle this past Friday. Mississippi State hired the former Penn State offensive coordinator on Tuesday
introduced him at a press conference on Thursday morning.
The Bulldogs still do not know who they will play in the bowl game. That should be known this Sunday.
