Arizona introduced new head football coach Kevin Sumlin on Tuesday. The former Texas A&M coach didn’t waste much time in getting familiar with his new surroundings.
The UA athletic department released a behind-the-scenes look at Sumlin’s tour of campus and introductions with countless Arizona staffers and campus community members. The reception was warm, and Sumlin sure seemed ready to get things going with the Wildcats.
“Very rarely will you see me with this on,” Sumlin said of his suited look on Tuesday. “I look at lot different with shorts on, and that’s another reason I’m here: Because you can wear shorts year-round.”
There’s no disputing that. Sumlin brings a career record of 86-43 to Tucson, including a 51-26 mark at Texas A&M before he was fired in late November. He takes over an Arizona team that finished 7-6 in 2017 and returns electrifying quarterback Khalil Tate in 2018, among other contributors.
