Mike VII is a charmer.
It appears LSU’s new mascot is making himself at home. On Monday, the tiger formerly known as Harvey officially was named Mike VII. And if the clip below featuring a young girl doesn’t tug at your heart, you’re not human.

What a cool thing, Tigers fans.
It’s great to see Mike VII interacting in this way. Of course, it helps that he’s living in a sweet habitat on LSU’s campus, and he will have plenty of admirers throughout the football season. Fans won’t be hard to come by.
Before becoming Mike VII, Harvey came to LSU as a donation from a sanctuary in Okeechobee, Fla., called Wild at Heart Wildlife Center. The three previous Mikes also came to the campus from rescue sites.
Rightly so, it seems strong social skills are a requirement for a tiger to become a Mike. So far, Mike VII is playing the role perfectly.
