WATCH: Kentucky QB commit Jarren Williams has 5-touchdown night

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — Jarren Williams is the talk of Kentucky’s 2018 class, and the 4-star quarterback showed why on Friday night.

SEC Country went to Central Gwinnett High School for Williams’ home opener. The one-game sample size provided a medley of highlights. Williams passed for 320 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for two touchdowns, accounting for all five scores in his team’s 36-33 win over Dacula (GA) High School.

So was that Williams at his best, or just a regular performance?

“That’s kinda normal,” he said after the game.

Williams is the 207th-ranked prospect in the nation and the No. 8 dual-threat quarterback, according to 247Sports composite rankings. Williams was Kentucky’s first commit in the 2018 class, but he de-committed on April 24 only to recommit less than a month later.

The 6-foot-2 and 206-pound quarterback has offers from almost every SEC school, and performances like Friday night’s are likely to garner more attention.

“I’m firm with Kentucky,” Williams said after the game. “There are some schools that still text me. I do listen to them, but right now I’m going to Kentucky.”

Stay tuned for more stories from our visit with Williams. Here’s our post-game interview with him along with a number of highlights from his 5-touchdown performance Friday night.
