Notre Dame-Miami will not only affect the College Football Playoff picture but also the egos of two of their most famous alums.
Miami (8-0, 6-0) is now No. 7 in the College Football Playoff rankings while Notre Dame (8-1) checks in at No. 3 leading into the showdown at Hard Rock Stadium.
ESPN personality Dan LeBatard (a graduate of the University of Miami) joined the Mike & Mike show and issued a personal challenge to Mike Golic, who played collegiately at Notre Dame.
After some initial relenting by Golic, the terms of the agreed upon bet hilariously pushes the stakes of the rivalry to the next level.
Look at that response by Mike Greenberg!
Greeny is having a blast with this, and jokes he’s going to be decked out in a Hurricanes jersey and turnover chain rooting for his long-time co-host to fail victim to the torture.
The threat of having to give a butt massage to ESPN personality Stugotz definitely should have Golic placing a call to Brian Kelly to offer some friendly advice for Saturday’s critical contest.
Meanwhile, LeBatard isn’t fully convinced Miami can beat Notre Dame, but in the spirit of sportsmanship is willing to put himself out there for the enjoyment of the audience.
With the Mike & Mike show coming to a close soon, comical wagers like these are reminders of the awesome chemistry the duo shared over the years.
