FORT VALLEY, Ga.  — Kearis Jackson comes from an athletic family.

When he was offered by UGA in April of 2016, it was as an athlete. That made sense. He would go on to receive recognition as an Under Armour All-American and also be invited to Nike’s prestigious Opening finals at world headquarters in Oregon.

The Peach County senior also proved to be the highly unlikely 4-star receiver that was also capable of winning a state championship in the shot put.

That’s no misprint. That’s legit.

But it should be no surprise. Look around the home he grew up in. That’s Grandma and Grandpa’s house. There are medals and trophies all over the garage for his grandfather’s accomplishments in various sports

Jackson became Georgia’s 12th commitment for the Class of 2018 on Saturday afternoon. He also slips past 4-star DE Azeez Ojulari as the second-highest rated pledge on the board for this cycle.
