Florida State hasn’t done a particularly good job of protecting its quarterback all season. It didn’t get any better during the first half against Clemson. The Tigers recorded 4 sacks in the first half, the first of which led to the first score of the game.
Clemson linebacker Tre Lamar seemingly came out of no where to sack Florida State quarterback James Blackman about halfway through the first quarter. But not only did Lamar absolutely level Blackman, he forced a fumble and recovered the loose ball.
The only way he could have made the play better is if he would have also scored.

The Tigers held the Seminoles to under 50 yards of offense in the first half. Clemson led at halftime, 17-0.
