AUBURN, Ala. — This was a weekend that Darius Slayton had circled on his calendar.
The one-time Georgia commit has friends and family who love the Georgia Bulldogs. He took slack when he flipped school choices years ago. He’s been a big-play threat all year for Auburn and showed the ability once again against the Dawgs on Saturday.
Slayton had a touchdown grab in the first half that probably made UGA fans wish he was wearing red and black. The catch came after Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham sent a 42-yard bomb downfield. Slayton, who earlier this year struggled with injuries, snatched the pass and forced the score.

The touchdown put Auburn up 16-7 over No. 1 Georgia on the Plains.
Auburn’s offense opened the game with some looks it hadn’t shown in recent weeks and stayed aggressive after a Georgia penalty gave the Tigers another shot to score.
Stidham, playing in his first-ever Auburn-Georgia game, had completed 11-of-17 passes (124 yards) as the second quarter was winding down.
