Defensive linemen often harbor secret aspirations of seeing action on the offensive side of the ball. They dream of scoring touchdowns and showing off celebrations years in the works.
Virginia Tech defensive tackle is no different — to an extent. Settle told Andy Bitter of the Roanoke Times Thursday that he, too, would like to see some action on offense in a goal-line situation. But Settle wouldn’t want to carry the ball. He just wants to run people over.
“I want to block someday,” Settle said.
Asked Settle if he ever lobbies the #Hokies coaches to give him a goal-line carry. "I want to block somebody. I don't want the ball," he said. "I can't promise you I'm going to hold onto the ball, because I'm going to try to run someone over."

Listed at 6-foot-3, 335 pounds, Settle would likely be a load to try to bring down. But the big man told Bitter he worries that he wouldn’t be able to hold onto the ball. Instead, he would rather just stick to what he’s best at: overpowering other players.
