Earlier on Wednesday, Michael Bennett released a statement on his Twitter account that he was racially profiled and abused by Las Vegas police officers. Video of the reported incident was released by TMZ shortly afterwards.
The video, obtained by TMZ, shows Bennett being handcuffed while on the ground. Bennett can heard saying “I didn’t do nothing.”
The video is only 30 seconds and only offers a small glimpse of what happened. Shortly afterwards, Colin Kaepernick tweeted his support of Bennett on Wednesday morning as well. After going undrafted out of Texas A&M, Bennett has become on of the best defensive lineman in the NFL.
This violation that happened against my Brother Michael Bennett is disgusting and unjust. I stand with Michael and I stand with the people. pic.twitter.com/TqXFiso6lk
