Ohio State running back J.K. Dobbins will make a start in his first career home game on Saturday night against No. 5 Oklahoma. Dobbins and Mike Weber will split carries in the game, but Urban Meyer said Thursday that the freshman will get the starting nod.
Dobbins ran for 181 yards in his college debut last week against Indiana as Weber was sidelined with a tight hamstring. Weber will play against the Sooners, Meyer said, but he did not predict how many carries the sophomore will get.
“Mike Weber practiced again, he’s good to go. To say he’s going to have so many carries, I know I’m going to get asked that a lot, I have no idea,” Meyer said Thursday during his radio call-in show. “J.K. will start, and we’ll go from there. I saw what you saw, he’s a really good player.”
