Twitter reacts to Miami’s rise in second College Football Playoff rankings

Miami rose three spots to land at No. 7 in the second College Football Playoff rankings of the 2017 season.

Week 10’s decisive 28-10 victory over Virginia Tech allowed the Hurricanes to leapfrog fellow undefeated Wisconsin, and a home matchup with No. 3 Notre Dame in front of a College GameDay crowd on Saturday would put them in prime position for a spot in the playoff.

“It’s all about the U,” ESPN analyst David Pollack said at the top of the network’s Tuesday night College Football Playoff rankings show.

The country’s leader with 13 consecutive wins dating back to last season, Miami has all but clinched the ACC Coastal Division — it can do so with a win against the Irish or a Virginia loss) for the first time in program history and likely would meet No. 4 Clemson in the conference championship game.
