Social media was sharply divided about Oklahoma’s positioning after coming No. 3 in the most recent College Football Playoff rankings released Tuesday night.

The 11-1 Sooners were jumped by 10-2 Auburn after the Tigers’ impressive 26-14 victory over Alabama boosted them into the SEC championship game on Saturday.

If the playoffs started today, we would have a delicious rematch between Oklahoma and Auburn. The Sooners claimed an impressive 35-19 triumph over the Tigers in the Sugar Bowl in January.

The Sooners will attempt to nail down their third consecutive Big 12 title by beating TCU in the Big 12 championship game Saturday morning in Arlington, Texas.
