Twitter erupts after UCLA freshman LiAngelo Ball arrested for shoplifting in China

According to ESPN’s Jeff Goldman, three UCLA freshman basketball players–including LiAngelo ball, brother of Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball–have been arrested on charges of shoplifting while the Bruins are in China to take on Georgia Tech for the annual Pac-12 China game.

Goodman tweeted out the news on Tuesday:

The other players involved, according to Goodman, are freshmen Cody Riley and Jalen Hill. According to the ESPN report, nearly 20 officers came into the team hotel at approximately 8 a.m. local time Tuesday. The police reportedly spoke to multiple players from both Georgia Tech and UCLA. The report goes on to say that players were kept in a room for hours and not allowed to speak to any of the coaches.
