After evaluating senior highlights, a trio of 2018 LSU commitments received a generous, well-deserved bump in the recruiting rankings.
Micah Baskerville, Jaray Jenkins and Chris Curry, three of the team’s 19 members of the 2018 recruiting class, have been upgrade to 4-star prospects in the 247Sports Composite rankings, which encompasses all four of the major recruiting ranking services.
Baskerville had a monster season at Evangel, proving to be the premier middle linebacker prospect in Louisiana for 2018. He recorded 78 tackles, 4 sacks, 2 interceptions and returned one for a touchdown, which helped him to secure a spot in the U.S. Army All-American Game.
Jenkins missed his senior season, but was dynamic in Jena (La.) High’s jamboree in which he suffered a fractured tibia. Jenkins was a triple-threat his junior season at receiver, defensive back and a return specialist.
Curry also battled a handful of injuries his senior season, but managed to toughen through it for 764 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. He did all that in just seven games played and was a nominee for the Under Armour All-America Game.
The upgraded star counts pushes LSU’s total number of 4-star prospects up to eight with 11 3-star prospects rounding out the current 19-man class.
