The day that some Texas Tech basketball fans thought might never happen finally came on Jan. 2, 2018.
For the first time ever, the Red Raiders recorded a win at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kan. — knocking off No. 10 Kansas in a 85-73 win over the Jayhawks.

Texas Tech was 0-17 in previous trips to one of college basketball’s most treasured and hostile venues. The game marked the second home loss for Kansas on the season, something which had not occurred since the 2006-07 season.
More remarkably, the Red Raiders never trailed in the game.
Keenan Evans scored a team-best 15 points for Texas Tech in the win, while Niem Stevenson picked up a team-high 4 assists.
The No. 18 Red Raiders are now 13-1 on the season, with their ranking likely to improve in the latest AP Top 25 poll next Monday.
Texas Tech will return to action with a home game vs Kansas State on Jan. 6. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. CT at the United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock, Texas.
