The Texas Tech Red Raiders lost a 3-star defensive end in the Class of 2018 with the decommitment of John Graves.

Graves, who plays high school ball at Lancaster High School in Lancaster, Texas, announced his decision on Twitter.

Graves is a big body, at 6-foot-1 and 290 pounds. He had originally committed to Texas Tech on July 14. He was also considering Memphis, Minnesota and SMU, among others.

With Graves’ decommitment, the Red Raiders now have just two defensive linemen coming to campus in 2018. Jaylon Hutchings is a 3-star defensive tackle, while John Scott is a 3-star defensive end.

Texas Tech had the No. 7 class in the Big 12 before his announcement, according to 247 Sports.
