Not every coach shared the same mindset as Alabama’s
Nick Saban on Monday. Some were genuinely excited for the rare solar eclipse, and actually wanted to go stare into the
sky rather than their TVs.
Those coaches who were most excited either shared it on Twitter, or were captured by others on social media. And as the
craze over the solar eclipse swept the nation (while the eclipse itself made its way across the country), it also made its
way through the coaching ranks of college football.
Perhaps the best photo came from Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin, who shared a picture wearing his specialized glasses
in preparation of the eclipse:
The craze extended beyond the SEC to some of the conference’s top rivals. Clemson coach Dabo Swinney was captured
by the team’s official account preparing for the eclipse, with a bag of SunChips no less:
