TCU sophomore safety Innis Gaines has reignited the jawing between TCU and Oklahoma’s players well in advance of the 2017 Big 12 Championship Game.

Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield was caught on camera clapping at TCU’s players before the Sooners and Frogs’ meeting on Nov. 11.

Mayfield and the Sooners went on to win 38-20. But if Oklahoma wants to make it to the College Football Playoff, it’s going to need a second win over TCU on Saturday.

The Oklahoma-TCU series seems to never lack intensity, and Gaines has got the ball rolling with a clap back to Mayfield posted on Saturday, Nov. 25 — a day after TCU clinched its spot in the Big 12 Championship Game.

Oklahoma had the pleasure of playing TCU at home, but the Sooners will be in the Frogs’ backyard for a more meaningful matchup.

Trash talk is sure to make its way to field level with the edge both teams have displayed against each other. And Gaines will likely to get back up his own words against Mayfield with fellow safeties Niko Small possibly out and Nick Orr suspended for one half.

Kickoff for the Big 12 Championship Game is set for 12:30 p.m. ET, Saturday, on FOX.
