Steve Ensminger has remained busy on the recruiting trail this week.
After stopping by to see tight end target Glenn Beal, linebacker commit Micah Baskerville, 5-star wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. and 5-star quarterback Justin Rogers in the past few days, LSU’s tight ends coach will be in Florida on Thursday evening to check in on prized H-back commit Zach Sheffer.
Sheffer, who committed to July in June during an unofficial visit, is an early enrollee and will sign early with the Tigers in December.
The 6-foot-3, 220-pound prospect from Nease (Fla.) High School in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., is the lone H-back committed to LSU’s 2018 recruiting class.
The 3-star recruit managed 156 yards on 25 carries and 2 touchdowns during his senior season and added another 317 yards receiving via 19 receptions and 4 touchdowns.
Sheffer has remained solid to LSU since committing despite pushes from a handful of rival schools. He officially visited Baton Rouge in October for the Auburn contest.
