Stephen A. Smith on Nick Saban being overrated: ‘It’s blasphemy’

Several “anonymous” coaches this week have called Nick Saban overrated. To Stephen A. Smith, that’s preposterous.

Smith, in his typical over-the-top-fashion, said on First Take dared any coach to publicly come forward and criticize Saban.

“It’s blasphemy that this could come out of anyone’s mouth, to call this man overrated,” Smith said. “I dare anybody, anybody, associated with college football to publicly state Nick Saban is overrated so the world can tell them how idiotic they truly, truly are.”

Dating back to 2008, Saban has lost just 11 games will also managing to win 4 national championships. He’s also led the Crimson Tide to three straight SEC titles, something that has only been done one other time since the conference introduced the SEC Championship game back in 1992.

Saban will get to prove once again how dominant he is when the Crimson Tide host Florida State in the first game of the season. The game is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. on Sept. 2.
