Auburn took an early blow in the 2020 recruiting cycle as star running back Deondre Jackson announced his de-commitment from the Tigers.

Here’s the announcement:

Jackson is still only a high school sophomore, and there’s a lot of time left in his recruitment. So it makes sense for him to step back from his commitment to the Tigers with so many unknowns still out there before he has to make a decision. He originally committed to Auburn on Dec. 12, 2017.

Due to his youth, Jackson doesn’t have a star rating from any of the major recruiting services. But his offer list should suffice: Alabama, Ohio State, Florida, Louisville and Tennessee, along with many other universities yet to offer, will be competing for his services over the next couple years.

Jackson is listed at 6-foot, 195 pounds and attends Stephenson High School in Lithonia, Georgia. Given his talent and proximity to Auburn, don’t count the Tigers out just yet.
