Coach Will Muschamp spoke with reporters on Sunday night during his weekly teleconference, to update the latest on the injury front for South Carolina.
Even though there weren’t any significant injuries from the North Carolina State game, Muschamp did say freshman cornerback Tavyn Jackson (foot) isn’t quite ready to return. Redshirt freshman wide receiver Randrecous Davis (leg) is close to returning to action.
“Randrecous practiced [Sunday] and looked good, so we’ll go with him this week and see what we can do and Tavyn is probably another week or so out,” Muschamp said.
Junior defensive back Steven Montac, who missed time during camp with a foot injury, played “well” in several snaps at safety against the Wolfpack.
“I was not surprised,” Muschamp said. “He does not need a lot reps. He’s a very intelligent young man. He can play a lot of spots for us. He understands our scheme extremely well.”
