South Carolina football: Taylor Stallworth receives clearance for the Florida game

COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina football coach Will Muschamp shared the latest on senior defensive tackle Taylor Stallworth during his call-in show on Thursday night.

Stallworth, who was listed as questionable with a “head injury” on Tuesday, has been cleared to play against Florida. Muschamp said Stallworth will start against the Gators.

A starter in all nine games this season, Stallworth has 27 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss.

Coming out of the loss at Georgia, several South Carolina players were “banged up,” including senior safety D.J. Smith, who missed practice on Tuesday. Smith is also ready to roll for Saturday in Williams-Brice Stadium.

“But really, to me, the normal stuff from this time of year,” Muschamp said. “You’re going into your 10th ball game of the year. We’re pretty banged up, but as far as guys missing the game, everyone that played at Georgia will play in this game.”
