There was a sad development involving a son of Mike Locksley, Alabama’s co-offensive coordinator.
As relayed by SEC Country’s Marq Burnett on Monday, Locksley’s son Meiko was shot and killed. WMAR-TV reported that the shooting happened Sunday night in Columbia, Md., and that Meiko died overnight after being transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. He was 25.

Locksley was an offensive analyst for Alabama during the 2016 season, and he was named the Crimson Tide’s co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach in January.
Locksley also was Maryland’s interim coach for six games in 2015, after serving as the Terrapins’ offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2012-15. He was New Mexico’s head coach from 2009-11.
