Sheryl Crow congratulates Missouri QB Drew Lock for his record-breaking performance

SEC

Drew Lock has gotten plenty of love for his extraordinary performance in Missouri’s season opener but this might be the coolest shoutout yet. Singer Sheryl Crow, a Missouri native, took to Twitter to give the quarterback and the Tigers some props.

Lock was named the Walter Camp Football Foundation offensive player of the week after he threw for a school-record 521 yards with 7 touchdowns in Missouri’s 72-43 victory over Missouri State at Faurot Field. The 521 passing yards from Lock are the fifth-most by an SEC quarterback in a single game.

It’s unrealistic to expect Lock to keep up that pace but a few more strong showings could place him in the conversation as a Heisman darkhorse.

Missouri hosts South Carolina on Sept. 9, with the game televised on ESPN2.
