My Senior Walk: Ohio State commitment Teradja Mitchell ready for business in 2017

Ohio State 2018 linebacker commitment Teradja Mitchell, a 5-star prospect at Bishop Sullivan Catholic in Virginia Beach, Va., has agreed to do a weekly journal of his senior season with the Crusaders. The nation’s second-ranked inside linebacker will join Land of 10 every Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. ET.

Hey everyone, welcome to my weekly journal for Land of 10. I’m excited to be doing this with the site and am looking forward to sharing my thoughts on my life, my school year, my team and, of course, Ohio State and our recruiting class. I think we’re in for something truly special and I hope you’ll enjoy being a part of the ride.

The summer was great. It was a very productive one for me.

On June 2, I made one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life. I decided to commit to furthering my education and my football career at The Ohio State University, a place where you get the best of both worlds — athletically and academically.

In addition to committing this summer, I’ve also accomplished my physical conditioning goals, dropping 20-plus pounds from where I was in the spring. I trained really hard this offseason and got after it daily. I committed to running and eating the right foods and wore a hoodie during every workout. This summer was a very hot one, so that helped, too. I have seen significant changes in my body composition, speed and quickness. This summer’s work has paid off, and I know it is just the start of a lot of hard work ahead.

As we start our season, I am moving a lot better in space and am prepared for this season. I am looking forward to my first game this weekend as we take on the No. 10 team in the country, American Heritage from Plantation, Fla.

It’s a perfect chance for my team to put itself on the map, because they’re a very talented team, and so are we. We are ranked at No. 32 according to MaxPreps, and we’re look forward to improving that ranking. I’m also, individually, looking to get a chance to prove that I am the nation’s best linebacker — period. I’ve put a lot of work into my game and I know there are great players all over out there, but I am going to show everyone what I’m capable of doing this year. That starts this weekend.

This game also can help in recruiting for the Buckeyes! After the game I’m going to make sure to get a hold of Pat Surtain Jr. and Tyson Campbell. I’ve got to let them know if they want win national championships and be developed into first-round draft picks in the next few years they’ve got to come join the  #S1LVER8ULLETS.

Thanks everyone for reading my first entry. If you’re able to, check out our game Saturday at 6 p.m. ET on

Go Bucks!
