Two SEC teams can be found within the top 10 of CBS Sports’ college football power rankings.
Alabama jumped into the top spot after beating Florida State 24-7 last Saturday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Auburn also slid into the top 10, coming in eighth after a 41-7 rout of Georgia Southern.
Ohio State, USC, Washington, Penn State, Clemson, Florida State, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State make up the rest of the top 10.
It’s not surprising to see Alabama climb to the No. 1 position. It’s hard to argue with the Crimson Tide being considered as the country’s top team after such an impressive victory on a large stage.
Auburn, meanwhile, did what it was supposed to do against an overmatched opponent. We’ll learn more about Auburn soon with the Tigers set to face Clemson on Saturday night.
