Scott Frost avoids question about Nebraska reports: ‘I’m not going to talk about it’

Scott Frost is still UCF’s coach, but reports keep connecting him to Nebraska, which fired head coach Mike Riley on Saturday. Beyond that, Huskers athletic director Bill Moos even confirmed in a press conference that Frost was under consideration to replace Riley.

Here’s an exchange from the AAC coaches teleconference ahead of this weekend’s conference championship game:

Reporter: “There are a lot of rumors swirling around you. Will you bat those down and confirm you’ll be back at UCF in 2018?’’

Frost: “I’m just not going to talk about it. All I want to talk about is this football team. I’ve said this a bunch of times. These guys have given me everything that I’ve asked of them, and bled and sweat for me. My focus is on this football team.’’

Bleacher Report’s Lars Anderson reported that Frost to Nebraska was a “done deal” on Friday, and ESPN’s Chris Fowler said Frost to Nebraska had been “done for awhile” on Sunday. The questions likely aren’t going to stop, though Frost has previously denied them.
