As the news of Joe Moorhead becoming Mississippi State’s new head coach became official on Tuesday, Penn State players gave their former offensive coordinator some love on social media.

The players who reacted, including star running back Saquon Barkley, were supportive of Moorhead’s decision to leave and become a head coach in the SEC. Barkley said the Bulldogs “got a great one” and wished Moorhead “nothing but success.”

Penn State linebacker Jason Cabinda had a similar message.

Wide receiver Juwan Johnson thanked Moorhead for helping him grow his game.

Cornerback Lamont Wade applauded Moorhead’s move.

Penn State coach James Franklin also tweeted out a message of thanks and support to Moorhead, wishing him and his family “the absolute best” in Starkville.

Moorhead spent the last two seasons as Penn State’s offensive coordinator, turning around the Nittany Lions offense. Penn State averaged 41.6 points per game during 2017, the seventh-best mark in the nation.

Moorhead will be taking over for Dan Mullen at Mississippi State.
