Saquon Barkley, J.T Barrett, Josey Jewell and J.K. Dobbins win Week 1 Big Ten awards

The Big Ten honored its best players after a busy Week 1 on Monday.

Ohio State quarterback and Penn State running back Saquon Barkley were named co-Big Ten Offensive Players of the Week. Iowa linebacker Josey Jewell was named the conference’s Defensive Player of the Week. And Ohio State running back J.K. Dobbins was named the league’s Freshman of the Week.

Maryland’s Antoine Brooks and Michigan kicker Quinn Nordin were also named co-Special Teams Players of the Week.

Here are the Week 1 stats for Barrett, Barkley, Jewell and Dobbins:

Barrett: 304 passing yards, 3 passing touchdowns, 20-of-35, 0 interceptions, 61 rushing yards, 1 rushing touchdown in 49-21 win at Indiana.

Barkley: 172 yards on 14 carries (12.3 yards per carry), 2 touchdowns, long rush of 80 yards in 52-0 win vs. Akron.

Jewell: 14 total tackles (seven solo), 2 sacks, 2.5 tackles for loss in 24-3 win vs. Wyoming.

Dobbins: 181 yards on 29 carries (6.2 yards per carry), long rush of 35 yards in 49-21 win at Indiana.
