Tennessee may have found its next head coach.
After SEC Country’s Mike Griffith reported that the Vols were closing in on Purdue coach Jeff Brohm as its next head coach, Vols insider Jimmy Hyams issued a report that Tennessee ‘will soon announce the hiring’ of Brohm.
Tennessee will soon announce the hiring of Purdue coach Jeff Brohm after going 6-6 this year. Brohm was 30-10 at Western Kentucky. Buyout is $5 million, drops to $4 million Dec 5. Still owes Purdue about $750k for leaving WKY.

Per Griffith’s report, the addition of Brohm could prove to be costly. Tennessee likely “will be responsible for a buyout reportedly in the $4 million to $5 million range, in addition to what’s sure to be a hefty raise from Brohm’s current salary of $3.3 million.”
Brohm, 46, was 6-6 in his first year at Purdue. Prior to that, Brohm was 30-10 during a three-year stint as the head coach at Western Kentucky.
This is a breaking news story that will be updated.
